Medicine Reminder
Privacy Policy
Last updated:
Medicine Reminder (Android package: com.utsavj.medicinereminder) is developed by Utsav Jariwala. This policy describes the current release, version 0.1.
Information stored on your device
The app stores medicine names, dose instructions, reminder schedules, reminder status, doses you mark Taken or Skipped, and app preferences in its private storage on your Android device. It uses this information to schedule reminders, display your checklist, and show dose history. No account is required.
The developer does not receive your medicine information or dose history. The app does not operate a developer-hosted database, cloud synchronization service, or developer-operated analytics service.
Permissions and reminders
The app uses notification and alarm access to deliver reminders, a foreground service and wake lock to ring alarms, and reboot notifications to restore scheduling. Alarm notifications and screens can display medicine details. What appears on a locked device depends on your Android notification settings. These permissions do not give the developer access to your device data.
Import and export
You can import medicine records from a CSV file you select and export medicine records to a location you choose through Android’s file picker. An exported CSV is a readable file containing medicine information. If you choose a cloud storage provider or share the file, that provider or recipient receives the file under its own privacy practices. Exported files are outside the app’s private storage and are not removed when you uninstall the app.
Advertising and third-party services
The current signed release (version 0.1) does not enable advertising or initialize the Google advertising and consent SDKs through the app’s advertising feature. It does not send your medicine names, dose instructions, or dose history to advertisers.
Development builds can show Google AdMob test advertisements using Google’s consent SDK. This development-only feature is disabled in the signed release. This policy will be updated before a public release enables advertising to describe the applicable data handling and choices.
Google Play and Android may separately process information under their own policies, including diagnostics you choose to share through their settings. See Google’s Privacy Policy.
Retention and deletion
App records remain on your device until you delete them or clear the app’s storage. Deleting a medicine cancels its future reminders but keeps recorded dose history. To remove all locally stored app information, use Android Settings to clear Medicine Reminder’s app storage or uninstall the app. Automatic Android cloud backup and device-transfer backup are disabled by the app’s backup configuration.
Delete exported CSV files separately, including copies held by any cloud provider or recipient. The developer cannot remotely access, retrieve, or delete your local records.
Security
The app relies on Android’s private app storage and device protections. It does not add a separate password or encryption layer to exported CSV files. Protect your device and choose carefully where you save or share exports.
Contact
For privacy questions, contact Utsav Jariwala: [email protected].
If you contact the developer, your message and contact details are used to respond to your inquiry. Avoid sending medicine records or other sensitive health information unless necessary for your request. Correspondence may be retained as needed to resolve the inquiry; you can request its deletion, subject to applicable legal retention obligations.
Changes to this policy
Updates will be published on this page with a revised date. Material changes to data handling will be reflected in the policy before the relevant app update is released.
